A Woman's View of Providence
June 12, 2004 - An event enjoyed by 49 women
The bus trip from Worcester-to-Providence was organized by WWHP to highlight the connections among reformers of the mid-nineteenth century, particularly Rhode Island’s Paulina Wright Davis and Worcester’s Abby Kelley Foster.
Barbara Barnes of the Rhode Island Historical Society was the tour leader. The group enjoyed a twenty-minute bus tour of Providence, including a stop at the John Brown home. Lunch at Providence Place Mall followed, as well as a tour of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) by docents, highlighting “Women Artists and Women in Art” tour.
