The Worcester Women's History Project and Worcester Historical Museum invite the public for a tea with an unexpected twist. In the mid-19th century, Worcester was a hotbed of reform and the city throbbed with activists for many causes, including woman's rights.
The thoughts and concerns of nineteenth century women, who mobilized to hold a national woman's rights convention in Worcester in 1850, will be expressed by four actresses portraying Abby Hills Price, Lucy Stone, Sarah H. Earle and Abby Kelley Foster. They will talk about dress reform, equal rights and opportunities for women, and taxation without representation. The evening will be participatory, so come with challenges!
